Endowment
Building our endowment in Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council is very important to the Scouting program. Your endowment gift is carefully administered by the Board Directors of the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council, Scouting America. Endowment Funds are restricted, with the investment dollars raised from the principal of the fund used to support operating functions of the Council. It’s Smart Giving that protects the future of local Scouting.
In recognition of your gift to our council endowment fund, Scouting offers 2 national awards in addition to membership in our local Heritage Society:
- James E West recognitions are available for gifts of $1,000 (Bronze), $5000 (Silver), $10,000 (Gold), and $15,000 (Diamond) to the council endowment fund. Recognition materials include a folio presentation, lapel pin, and a much-coveted knot to proudly wear as part of the uniform. Many begin the James E. West journey as a tribute to spouses, Eagles, Scout Masters and peers, or to show pride in the belief of the future of Scouting. Already a James E West? Consider adding to reach your next level of recognition.
- Second Century Society is for donors who make deferred or outright gifts greater than $25,000. Commitments at this level can be made in a pledge, payable over 5 years. Your gift can go to any of the 3 funds that support our youth- operating, capital or endowment.
Contributions can be made by an individual, group or organization.
To make a gift or add to your current recognitions, please contact our our Director of Philanthropy, Mark McHaddon at endowment@svmbc.org. We are looking forward to welcoming you to our Heritage Society!
