Cub Scout Day Camp is a multi-day outdoor experience under the supervision of specially trained volunteers. The program is thoughtfully designed to teach Cub Scouts basic life skills through fun activities ranging from Shooting Sports to nature to STEM projects. We create opportunities for your child to think things through, challenge them mentally and physically, persevere, and to achieve. Scouts earn requirements for rank advancement, earn special awards and gain a lot of self-confidence in a short amount of time.
Who can attend
Youth entering grades first(Tiger)*, second(Wolf), third(Bear), forth(Webelos), fifth (Arrow of Light), in Fall of 2024.
*Please note that an adult partner is required every day for all youth entering the first grade (Tiger Scout).
Each Scout receives
– Earned requirements toward Rank Adventure belt loops
– Cub Camp T-Shirt
– Cub Camp Patch – worn on their scout uniform
– Requirements towards rank adventures, including shooting sports
– Handmade projects made at camp to take home and cherish
– A lot of encouragement and praise
– New experiences and a head start on the next scouting season
Activities
The daily program contains a well-balanced variety of activities that include strenuous movement, time for rest, times for noise and motion, learning new skills and making new friends. The program activities will vary from camp to camp and can include many of the following:
- Air-Powered BB
- Archery
- Nature Hike
- Leatherworking
- STEM / Craft
- Skits/Songs
- Whittling
- Scout Skills
- Obstacle Course
- Service Projects
Discounted Rates available for Volunteering Parents!
Volunteers are what make Monterey Cub Camp such a great experience. If you are able to take the time to help with our program, we would love to offer your scout a volunteer-based scholarship as follows:
- 3-4 days of volunteering means 50% off the cost of 1 scout
- 5 days of volunteering means 100% off the cost of 1 scout
To volunteer you must have be a registered member of Scouts BSA and have current YPT. Please contact Darcy Fowler at darcy.wilson@att.net if you are interested in volunteering.
Youth Volunteers Wanted!
Calling all Santa Lucia youth! We are looking for scouts to help at Monterey Cub Camp. You will earn volunteer hours for rank and school requirements while having a great time with Cub Scouts. If you are interested, please contact Camp Director Darcy Fowler at darcy.wilson@att.net for more information.
Cancellations/Transfers
If there are any cancellations, please notify the Cub Camp Team at cubcamp@svmbc.org at least 14 days prior to the committed date. All refunds/transfers are subject to a 25% cancellation fee.
There are no refunds 14 days before the event. The event will be held rain or shine. No refunds due to weather or schedule conflicts. In the event that the camp cannot be held, you would receive a full refund.
Serious medical emergencies such as hospitalization (may require a doctor note) or death of immediate family members would receive full refund within 14 days of camp. All other emergencies are subject to consideration.
