Off to the Races – Chenoa Day Camp

Dates: Mon-Fri, July 17-21, 2023
Times: 8:30AM – 4:00PM
Cost: $200 before April 31, $250 after May 1
Cub Scout Day Camp is a multi-day outdoor experience under the supervision of specially trained volunteers. The program is thoughtfully designed to teach Cub Scouts basic life skills through fun activities ranging from Shooting Sports to nature to STEM projects. We create opportunities for your child to think things through, challenge them mentally and physically, persevere, and to achieve. Scouts earn requirements for rank advancement, earn special awards and gain a lot of self-confidence in a short amount of time.
Who can attend
Youth entering grades first(Tiger), second(Wolf), third(Bear), forth(Webelos), fifth (Arrow of Light), in Fall of 2023. * Please note that an adult partner is required every day for all youth entering the first grade (Tiger Scout).
Each Scout receives
– A chance to design this year’s Cub Camp patch, submit your design by 1/31/2023!
– Earned requirements toward Rank Adventure belt loops
– Cub Camp T-Shirt
– Cub Camp Patch – worn on their scout uniform
– Earned requirements toward the Outdoor Activity Award, a cool pocket patch sewn on and worn on their scout uniform
– Earned requirements for Shooting Sports Award – Patch and pins (specific camps)
– Handmade projects made at camp, to take home and cherish
– A lot of encouragement and praise
– New experiences and a head start on the next scouting season
Activities
The daily program contains a well-balanced variety of activities that include strenuous movement, time for rest, quiet times, times for noise and motion, learning new skills and making new friends. The program activities will vary from camp to camp and can include many of the following:
- Air-Powered BB
- Archery
- Leatherworking
- STEM / Craft
- Skits/Songs
- Races
- Scout Skills
- Obstacle Course
- Service Projects

Volunteer two to five days – receive 50% – 100% off one scout’s camp fee, if interested:

– Complete Volunteer Application
– Complete Online Youth Protection Training or submit current certificate
– Attend Staff Training (date TBD)
Have an older scout? We need Den Chiefs age 14+ Den Chiefs work with our Cub Scout campers, guiding them through the week’s activities, if interested:

Cancellations/Transfers
If there are any cancellations, please notify the Cub Camp Team at cubcamp@svmbc.org at least 14 days prior to the committed date. All refunds/transfers are subject to a 25% cancellation fee.
There are no refunds 14 days before the event. The event will be held rain or shine. No refunds due to weather or schedule conflicts. In the event that the camp cannot be held, you would receive a full refund.
Serious medical emergencies such as hospitalization (may require a doctor note) or death of immediate family members would receive full refund within 14 days of camp. All other emergencies are subject to consideration.
