Wilderness First Aid

Who we are:
CPR First – We are a team of medical professionals (physicians, nurses, and EMTs) who believe everyone should have a basic knowledge of first aid and CPR. Our trainers are engaging, enthusiastic, and want to help you learn. Together, our trainers have over 50 years of experience teaching people just like you.
Course Description:
This course is designed for outdoor enthusiasts, scout leaders, or anyone who wants to be better prepared for emergencies in the wilderness. You will learn about patient assessment, managing first aid emergencies, and CPR. Upon completing this course, you will have the necessary skills to care for someone in the wilderness for twenty-four hours if required. Certifications will be given through ECSI, which is recognized internationally and accepted by the BSA for all high adventure activity bases.
Current CPR/First Aid certificate is required to attend Wilderness First Aid.
Course format:
This is a hybrid course with 2 online portions.
Part 1
An online learning module sequence for wilderness first aid is provided by a partnership with ECSI and the BSA. This must be purchased separately and completed at your own pace. Licenses can be bought at https://www.ecsinstitute.org/scouting-wfa.
Part 2
An eight-hour skills training to complete the course successfully. The skills training will be conducted completely online via Zoom. You will receive all course materials in the mail before the class starts. We will be discussing the course content and providing a deeper understanding of the topics.
