As brand new Scouts sign up this year at joining events around the council, we are having one of their first experiences be a fishing day, Hooked on Scouting. These new Scouts will have the opportunity to learn how to fish in early October, either on Saturday 10/8 or Sunday 10/9 at the following locations:

Vasona Saturday 10/8
Vasona Sunday 10/9
Loch Lomond Saturday 10/8
Almaden Lake Park Sunday 10/9

Ed Levin Saturday 10/8
Monterey Wharf Sunday 10/9

The events will run from 9am-12pm and feature station based programming where the new scouts will go from station to station learning all of the basics of fishing—including knots, casting, fish identification and safety.

BEST of all each new Scout gets a rod and reel to keep as a thank you gift for joining Scouting this year.

If you are a brand-new Scout who joined AT/During a unit join night, your unit leader will have more information on registering for an event.

Help Wanted!

Do you love fishing? Are you excited to share that passion with brand new scouts? If so, we want YOU!

We are looking for both experienced and novice anglers alike to help staff these events from 8am-1pm.

Scouts BSA and Venturing Scouts encouraged to sign up to volunteer. First 35 qualified scouts to volunteer will receive a free fishing pole in addition to service hours.
