Character Awards

Character Awards Dinner
Honoring Community Leaders

The Character Award honors excellence in personal character as displayed through positive ethics, high integrity, and strong character.  The recipients of the Character Award are selected by former Character Award recipients because of their impact made in the community, which personifies what Scouting stands for – good citizenship and service to others. The honorees are role models for the future leaders of our area – the youth of today.

In April of 2017 Brad Baron, Kelly Dippel, Pam Foley, Mark Lazzarini and Reverend Gerald Sakamoto were recognized by the Boy Scouts of America as Character Award Honorees. The 2018 Honorees will be announced early February of 2018. The next Character Awards Dinner will be held on April 19, 2018 at the San Jose Rotary Summit Center, 7th floor (top floor), 88 S 4th St, San Jose, CA 95112.

Funds raised help support our Outreach Programs, including Learning for Life; Exploring program has been a community resource through the Boy Scouts of America delivered in partnership with thousands of businesses, organizations, state, local and federal agencies for high school students to learn about a career and the workforce through an adult mentorship program alongside their peers.
