Sons of American Revolution Eagle Scout Scholarship

The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) are pleased to offer a scholarship competition for local Eagle Scouts.  The SAR Arthur M. & Berdena King Eagle Scout Scholarship is a 3-stage competition starting at the local SAR chapter level with the chapter level winner advancing to the California State SAR level competition and the State winner advancing to the SAR National level competition.  Monetary awards to winners are $100 from the local chapter, $500 from the California State SAR and $8,000 at the National SAR level competition.  Certificates and Medals are also awarded by the local chapter SAR, the California State SAR and the National SAR to competition winners.

Any Eagle Scout is eligible to apply who is still actively registered in a Scout unit provided that he does not reach his 19th birthday in the 2013 year of application. The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution was founded in 1889, Chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1906 and is an organization of over 30,000 male descendants of those Patriots who served during the Revolutionary War or who rendered material aid to the founding of the United States of America during the Revolutionary period.  The objects of the Society are patriotic, historical and educational.
