Land Ethic

Since 1910, the Boy Scouts of America has been a positive force in conservation and environmental efforts and that remains true for Scouting in our local community.  Conservation, stewardship, and connecting children with nature are vital to the Boy Scouts of America.

The Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council currently owns and operates three Scout camps and two council offices.  A breath of fresh air, our Scout camps offer an outdoor Scouting environment for some 3,200 or more Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, every year.

Recognizing the need for, and the benefits of, conservation and land management, the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council has engaged an environmental consulting firm to provide a comprehensive conservation plan for one of our camps.  Additionally, our council is in the process of assembling a conservation committee with a select group of individuals that will take a pro-active approach to conservancy and land ethics within our council.
