Hispanic Initiative

The Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council, Boy Scouts of America, is focused on strengthening knowledge of our Scouting programs within the Latino community.

We hired a full time Hispanic Executive to help us encourage Latino families that Scouting is a positive program for their families.  Our main goal is to spread the word of Scouting and organize Cub Scout packs and Boy Scout troops at local schools and churches.

As we continue to grow our programs in the Latino community, the support of civic and business leaders is necessary and welcome.

Our Hispanic Initiative Committee is led by Julianne Savage, Chairman.  She has been serving in this role since 2012 and continues to build a team of people who can support both financially and through community partnerships.

We would like to thank the following members of the committee for their participation:

  1. Jorge Delgado, Assistant Council Commissioner
  2. Frank Diaz, Unit Commissioner Pack 911, Troop 988
  3. Elizabeth Garcia, Finances (Vendor Campaign ) National Hispanic University
  4. Gustavo Gonzalez, CM Pack 920
  5. Kim Layseca, SA Troop 13, assisting Pack 905
