Camporee, The Viking Sagas

The Annual District Camporee 25, 26, 27 April 2014 Chesebrough Scout Reservation

Calling all barbarians. Rome has fallen! The Germanic Iron Age has passed. Charlemagne’s empire weakens. The Age of the Vikings is at hand!

A call goes out to all Vikings, Berserkers, and Norsemen (Jutes, Danes, Geats, Gotes, Swedes, Rus, and Normans). You are hereby invited to attend the greatest Viking adventure since the raid on Lindisfarne, the conquest of Northumbria, the siege of Paris, the attacks on Constantinople, or the discoveries of Iceland, Greenland, and Vinland.

Glorious activities include Viking Legends (movie night), the Smörgåsbord Feast (barbeque), the Heroic Sagas (patrol games), the Siege of Paris (pioneering competition), and the Viking Fire Festival (campfire).

This year, the Saturday feast is hosted by the staff. The cost of the meal is included in the registration fee. Units are invited to provide desserts, which will be judged for the Viking Treat cooking competition.

Download camporee information using the links at  the right-hand side of this page.

Please submit your RSVP form as soon as possible. No fees are due with this form. All forms received by March 15 qualify for Top Dog award points. The RSVP information is needed to plan and to provide adequate staffing and resources for the Camporee.
