The Boy Scouts of America have four national high adventure bases. The closest and most familiar is Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico but there is also the Northern Tier National High Adventure base in Wisconsin, the Florida Sea Base, and now the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virigina.
Philmont Scout Ranch is the National Boy Scouts of America’s premier High Adventure base. Philmont challenges Scouts and Venturers with more than 214 square miles of rugged northern New Mexico wilderness. Philmont and the other high adventure bases offer outstanding adult and youth training programs. Check out the Philmont Training Center website for information on those experience.
We have two “ambassadors” for Philmont who are equipped to share information about the training center and back country programs. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request more information.
